These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Plopmates LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("we", "us"). They cover your use of the Plopmates iOS app and everything in it. If you don't agree with them, don't use the app.
You accept these Terms when you create a Plopmates account. If we change them materially, we'll ask you to accept the new version the next time you open the app.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Plopmates. Plopmates is not directed to anyone under 18, and it is not directed to children under 13; we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under the minimum age, we delete it.
You also confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You pick a username. That username is your identity in the app — it is what your plopmates see, and it is what your plops, posts and comments are attached to.
Keep your account to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your username. Don't impersonate anyone, don't pick a username designed to look like it belongs to Plopmates staff, and don't try to get around a block or a ban by making a new account.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior on Plopmates. By using the app you agree not to post, upload, record or send anything that:
The full house rules — including what is allowed, which is most of the gross stuff — are in the Community Guidelines. They are part of these Terms.
We filter content before it is posted, we let anyone report anything, and we let anyone block anyone.
If you think we got it wrong, email plop@plopmates.com and a human will look again.
You own everything you post — your plops, your PlopThoughts, your PlopEmos, your voice notes, your forum posts and your comments.
To run the app, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy, transmit and display that content for the purpose of operating Plopmates: showing your plop to your plopmates, playing your voice note in their feed, putting your forum post on the board. That license exists so the app can function, and for nothing else. We do not sell your content, license it to anyone, use it to advertise, or use it to train machine-learning models.
The license ends when you delete the content or delete your account, except for copies already in routine backups, which age out on their own schedule.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use one copy of Plopmates on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
Don't reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app; don't rent, lease, lend, sell or sublicense it; don't try to break, overload or probe our servers; don't scrape it; and don't use bots or automated scripts against it.
Both are optional, both are off until you allow them, and both can be turned off again in iOS Settings at any time.
Neither is required. The app works fully without either.
Push notifications are opt-in. Everything is off by default except plopmate match alerts, which only ever fire while you are also plopping. There is deliberately no way to subscribe to when other people plop.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: Menu → Account → Delete account. It is permanent, it takes effect immediately, and it removes your profile, plop history, posts, comments, voice notes, votes, group memberships and plopmate connections. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what goes and when.
We may also terminate or suspend your account if you break these Terms.
Plopmates is a free joke app made by a very small team. It is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any plop, post or notification will be delivered.
Plopmates is not a health app. Nothing in it — not your stats, not your box plot, not your mood radar — is medical advice. If something about your body worries you, talk to a doctor, not a toilet-themed leaderboard.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of Plopmates. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is zero.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You and we acknowledge that:
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will ask you to accept the new version in the app before you carry on using it. Continuing to use Plopmates after a change means you accept it.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn't resolved by emailing us first will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you and we each consent to that. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
