Plopmates is a joke app about pooping with your friends. It is supposed to be gross, loud and a bit stupid. That is the whole point, and none of what follows is here to sand that off.
What the rules are actually for is simple: everyone here is on the toilet with their guard down. That only works if nobody has to worry about who else is in the room.
Be as gross as you like about poop. Don't be cruel about people.
Harassment and bullying. Don't target a person. Don't pile on. Don't follow someone around the app. Jokes at your own expense are the house style; jokes at someone else's expense, aimed at them, repeatedly, are not.
Hate speech. No slurs, and no attacks on anyone for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation. There is no funny version of this and it is not up for debate.
Sexual content. No nudity, no explicit sexual content, no solicitation, no "send nudes". Plopmates is not that app and never will be.
Anything involving minors. Content that sexualises or endangers anyone under 18 is removed immediately, the account is permanently banned, and we report it to the authorities and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. There is no threshold, no warning and no appeal.
Threats and violence. No threats to hurt anyone. No telling someone to kill themselves. No graphic violence.
Self-harm. Don't encourage or instruct anyone to hurt themselves. If you are struggling, please talk to someone — in the US you can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and outside the US you can find a local line at findahelpline.com.
Doxxing. Don't post anyone's phone number, email address, home address or workplace — including your own. The Plop Forum is public.
Spam and scams. No junk, no bots, no crypto, no "make $500 a day", no links to somewhere you're trying to sell something.
Impersonation. Don't pretend to be someone else, and don't pretend to be us. Nobody from Plopmates will ever ask you for a password.
Other people's plops. Don't screenshot a friend's plop out of the app and post it somewhere they didn't agree to. What happens in the feed stays in the feed.
We filter as you type. Slurs, sexual solicitation, threats and content involving minors are blocked before they can ever be posted — in usernames, plops, forum posts, comments and group names. This filter is deliberately narrow: it does not touch ordinary swearing, because ordinary swearing is fine here.
You can report anything. Every plop, forum post, comment, voice note and profile has a ⋯ menu with Report. Tell us which rule it broke. It disappears from your feed the moment you report it, whatever happens next.
You can block anyone. Blocking is instant and total: their plops, forum posts and comments vanish from your app, yours vanish from theirs, they cannot send you a plopmate request, and matchmaking will never put the two of you in the same plop room again. They are not told. Manage your list in Menu → Blocked people.
Reported content comes down fast. Anything reported by enough people is hidden automatically, within seconds, before a human has looked at it. Reports for threats or anything involving a minor hide the content on the first report. Everything else is reviewed by a person within 24 hours.
Depending on what you did, and whether you've done it before:
1. The content is hidden or removed. 2. You get a warning. 3. Your account is suspended. 4. Your account is permanently banned, and you don't get to come back with a new username.
Anything involving a minor skips straight to step 4.
We will sometimes get it wrong — an automatic filter is a blunt instrument and a pile of reports isn't proof. If your content or account was actioned and you think it was a mistake, email plop@plopmates.com from wherever you like, tell us your username and what happened, and a human will look at it properly and write back.
